Cláudia Patrícia Mendonça Gouveia, a SESARAM nurse, will receive scholarship-equivalent status to pursue a doctorate until 17 July 2027. The leave will be partial and subject to conditions on pay, academic progress and continued service.
Cláudia Patrícia Mendonça Gouveia, an employee of the Autonomous Region of Madeira Health Service, EPERAM (SESARAM, EPERAM), has been granted scholarship-equivalent status to pursue a Doctoral Programme in Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing of the Portuguese Catholic University. The decision is set out in Order No. 411/2026 of the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection.
The programme began on 24 September 2026 and ends on 17 July 2027. The arrangement takes the form of temporary partial leave from her duties, from the publication of the order until the end of the programme. Leave must be agreed with her line managers and may not overlap with leave taken by colleagues, unless expressly authorised by the Director of Nursing.
During her studies, the employee retains the benefits associated with performing her duties. Her pay is maintained when absences do not exceed 30 days per year; additional justified absences, provided they are related to the doctorate, are unpaid. Her length of service continues to count for all legal purposes.
The beneficiary must provide information on the progress of her studies and complete the doctorate successfully within the period covered by the arrangement, without repeating or extending it, except in cases of force majeure that are duly substantiated and accepted by the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection. After completing the doctorate, she must immediately return to her duties at SESARAM and remain employed there for a period equal to twice the duration of her paid leave. Failure to meet this obligation, withdrawal from the programme or failure to make satisfactory academic progress will require repayment of the amounts received for the paid-leave period. If only part of the required service period is completed, compensation will be calculated proportionally.
Lígia Maria de Jesus Baptista Correia has consolidated her inter-category mobility from technical assistant to technical coordinator. The change takes effect on 1 October 2026 and corresponds to the first salary step, level 15.
The renewed contract with CPE - Companhia de Parques de Estacionamento, S.A. secures the premises used by Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital’s Outpatient Clinic for a further five years. The total cost is €381,471.48, exempt from VAT.
The Region has authorised the allocation of costs for a cleaning contract covering several SESARAM facilities. The base price is €949,066.80, plus VAT at 22%, with the expenditure planned for 2027.
