SESARAM reallocates funds for waste treatment and home hospitalization vehicles

The Madeira Health Service has reallocated its budget for the hospital waste treatment contract and for the acquisition of six vehicles for Home Hospitalization.

The Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection has approved changes to the financial phasing of two expenditures of the Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM, EPERAM).

The decisions were made through two distinct ordinances:

  • Ordinance No. 376/2026: Reallocates and changes the charges for the provision of hospital waste and boiler ash treatment services. The contract, with a total price of 1,315,720.89 € (plus VAT), is now phased as follows: 33,519.97 € (2024); 456,948.62 € (2025); 559,727.48 € (2026); 265,524.82 € (2027).
  • Ordinance No. 377/2026: Reallocates and changes the charges for the acquisition of six vehicles to support the Home Hospitalization Unit. The acquisition, with a total value of 452,580.00 € (plus VAT), is now fully concentrated in the 2026 fiscal year, with the amount for 2025 set at 0.00 €.

These changes allow for more adjusted financial management of SESARAM's resources, ensuring the continuity of essential services and strengthening the response capacity of home hospitalization.
