Regional Government defines remuneration supplement for health authorities
Ordinance no. 228/2026 has been published, defining the remuneration supplement regime for doctors in the effective exercise of health authority functions in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. This measure, which revokes the previous Normative Order no. 4/2005, aims to compensate for the demand and permanent availability required in these roles.
Monthly Supplement Values
- Regional Health Authority: €3,000.00
- Municipal Hub Coordinator: €4,250.00 (plus €1,000.00 per hub)
- Local Health Authorities (Funchal Hub): €2,650.00
- Local Health Authorities (East Zone Hub): €2,450.00
- Local Health Authorities (West Zone Hub): €2,450.00
- Local Health Authorities (Porto Santo Hub): €1,200.00
The supplement is paid 12 months per year and its payment is conditional on the monthly validation of the exercise of functions. The measure covers doctors specializing in public health or relevant areas, integrated into the medical career, and reflects the organic-functional reorganization that reduced the number of health authorities from 24 to 13, aiming for greater efficiency in resource management.
