Filipe Jorge Januário Velosa de Sousa, a Political Science graduate, takes on the role of deputy in Secretary Micaela Freitas' cabinet.
The Regional Secretariat of Health and Civil Protection has strengthened its political support team with the appointment of Filipe Jorge Januário Velosa de Sousa as Deputy of the Cabinet. The decision, formalized through Dispatch no. 235/2026, aims to ensure the technical support necessary for the exercise of governmental functions.
Filipe Jorge Januário Velosa de Sousa, who holds a degree in Political Science from Lusófona University, has an extensive background in communication and consulting, having worked for Diário de Notícias da Madeira, the newspaper A Bola, and the Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts Institute of Madeira (IVBAM). The new deputy had been serving as a Specialist Technician in the same cabinet since April 2025.
The appointment takes immediate effect, and the associated expenditure is duly provided for in the budget of the Regional Secretariat of Health and Civil Protection, under commitment number CY42609593. With this inauguration, the previous Dispatch no. 309/2025, of May 6, is revoked.
