The Council of Government has approved a resolution authorizing an expenditure of 6.72 million euros for a slope stabilization and protection project on Via Expresso 2, between the Ladeira da Vinha and João Delgado tunnels.
The Regional Government of Madeira has authorized a slope stabilization project on Via Expresso 2 (VE 2), in the municipality of Porto Moniz, with a base value of 6.72 million euros, plus VAT. The intervention aims to improve road safety conditions on a section considered to be at risk.
The Regional Government Council Resolution No. 848/2026 authorizes the expenditure for the project designated as «STABILIZATION OF THE SLOPE AND PROTECTION OF VE 2 BETWEEN THE LADEIRA DA VINHA AND JOÃO DELGADO TUNNELS - SECTION BETWEEN KM 3+600 AND 3+800. PROJECT». The site is located in the parish of Seixal and is characterized by the presence of a steep cliff next to the road, which represents a risk of landslides and rockfalls onto the highway.
The contracting procedure will be carried out through a public tender, with an announcement to be published in the Official Journal of the European Union. The authority to conduct the process has been delegated to the Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, Pedro Fagundes de Freitas Rodrigues.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira will acquire a plot of land in Santo António, valued at 10,718.25 euros, necessary for the execution of an access and safety infrastructure project.
Order No. 430/2026 authorizes the budget distribution for the rehabilitation project of the Ribeira Brava and Ponta do Sol Mixed Fire Station, with a maximum value of 2,475,416.66 euros.
