The Regional Government of Madeira has approved the award of the contract for the rehabilitation of the sports hall and multi-sports facility at the Bishop D. Manuel Ferreira Cabral Basic and Secondary School. The project, designated as "BISHOP D. MANUEL FERREIRA CABRAL BASIC AND SECONDARY SCHOOL - REHABILITATION OF THE SPORTS HALL AND MULTI-SPORTS FACILITY - A", was awarded to the company SOCICORREIA - ENGENHARIA S.A..
The decision was formalized through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 717/2026, approved in plenary session on July 15, 2026. The established contract price is 2,585,000.04 euros (plus VAT at the legal rate), and the project execution period is set at 450 days.
The contract will be signed by the Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, and the execution phase will be monitored by the Regional Director of Social Equipment and Conservation. The expense is covered by the Autonomous Region of Madeira's Budget for 2026.
This intervention aims to improve the sports and usage conditions of that school's sports hall, located in Santana, contributing to the modernization of regional educational infrastructure.
