Machico Forum receives up to €1.42 million in funding
The Region will fund the revitalization of the Machico Forum’s infrastructure and equipment, with a maximum contribution of €1,422,693. The funding will be allocated across 2026, 2027 and 2028 through a programme contract with SMD.
The Regional Government has authorized a programme contract with SMD - Sociedade Metropolitana de Desenvolvimento, S.A. to fund the revitalization of the Machico Forum’s infrastructure and equipment. The contribution may reach €1,422,693.
The funding, linked to PIDDAR project no. 52749 - Revitalization of infrastructure and equipment - Machico Forum, will be allocated over three years:
- 2026: up to €90,000;
- 2027: up to €457,043;
- 2028: up to €875,650.
Resolution of the Regional Government Council no. 971/2026 stipulates that the contract takes effect once it has been approved by the Court of Auditors and remains in force until 31 December 2028, without prejudice to obligations that must continue after its expiry. The regional secretary responsible for Equipment and Infrastructure is authorized to formalize the contract and any amendments.
