Regional Government updates cost indices for public works price revision
The Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure has published the new cost indices for materials and labor for the first quarter of 2026.
Through Notices no. 242/2026 and no. 243/2026, the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure has set the cost index values applicable to the price revision of public works contracts in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, referring to the months of January, February, and March 2026.
The indices cover:
- Materials: Bagged cement, diesel, and bulk cement.
- Labor: Global index, indices by type of work (including buildings, roads, tunnels, and infrastructure networks), and indices by profession (mason, steel fixer, carpenter, electrician, among others).
These values, proposed by the Regional Commission for Indices and Contracting Formulas, are essential for calculating price revisions in ongoing public works contracts, ensuring cost updates in line with market variations.
