Regional Government boosts Gas Solidarity Program with exceptional 5 euro support
The Regional Government of Madeira, through Ordinance no. 175/2026, has implemented the first amendment to the GÁS-SOLIDÁRIO.RAM program regulations. Given the current international situation and the worsening tensions in the Middle East, which have caused volatility in gas prices, the Madeiran executive has decided to adopt exceptional and transitory measures.
Main changes:
- Extraordinary Support: An increase of €5 (five euros) is added to the monthly financial contribution for a period of 90 days, starting from the entry into force of the ordinance.
- Retroactive Reimbursement: Beneficiaries who purchased bottled or piped LPG in January and February 2026 may be reimbursed for the expected monthly amount (up to €20), upon declaration (for bottled LPG) or invoice credit (for piped LPG).
The total financial support planned for 2026 is €973,676.72, managed by the Regional Directorate of Energy. The measure aims to support needy families residing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira in the purchase of bottled or piped liquefied petroleum gases (LPG).
