Regional Government approves over 8.2 million euros for eight nurseries and kindergartens
The Madeira Regional Government authorized the distribution of budgetary charges for contracts with eight private education establishments, for a total value exceeding 8.2 million euros.
The Madeira Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariats of Education, Science and Technology and Finance, published eight ordinances authorizing the distribution of budgetary charges for simple contracts and their respective amendments with private education establishments. These measures aim to support the operation and social support of these institutions, ensuring the continuity of educational services for families in the Region.
The ordinances, published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira on July 22, 2026, amend ordinances for the distribution of charges published in September 2025. The total values, which exceed 8.2 million euros, are divided between the economic years 2025 (September to December) and 2026 (January to August), and are supported by the budget of the Management and Planning Unit Office of the Regional Secretariat of Education, Science and Technology.
The beneficiary education establishments are as follows:
- Nursery "O Golfinho II", managed by the Cooperativa de Habitação Económica de Câmara de Lobos, CRL, via Ordinance No. 344/2026. Total value: €261,000.82 (Operation: €180,440.82; Social Support: €80,551.00).
- Kindergarten "Pirilampo Mágico", managed by O Pirilampo Mágico, Lda., via Ordinance No. 345/2026. Total value: €317,539.17 (Operation: €227,604.17; Social Support: €89,935.00).
- Education establishment "O Canto dos Reguilas", managed by O Canto dos Reguilas - Creche e Jardim de Infância, Lda., via Ordinance No. 346/2026. Total value: €1,165,859.58 (Operation: €890,492.58; Social Support: €275,367.00).
- Education establishment "Creche do Campanário", managed by Creche do Campanário, Lda., via Ordinance No. 347/2026. Total value: €347,625.95 (Operation: €253,947.95; Social Support: €93,678.00).
- Kindergarten "Refúgio do Bebé II", managed by Refúgio do Bebé - Creches e Jardins de Infância, Lda., via Ordinance No. 348/2026. Total value: €450,711.45 (Operation: €341,344.45; Social Support: €109,367.00).
- Kindergarten "Universo dos Traquinas", managed by Elenco Perfeito, Lda., via Ordinance No. 349/2026. Total value: €674,473.89 (Operation: €501,307.89; Social Support: €173,166.00).
- Kindergarten "A Cidade dos Brinquedos", managed by A Cidade dos Brinquedos - Infantário, Unipessoal, Lda., via Ordinance No. 350/2026. Total value: €1,438,319.40 (Operation: €1,144,153.40; Social Support: €294,166.00).
- Kindergarten "Pegadas Janotas", managed by Pegadas Janotas, Lda., via Ordinance No. 351/2026. Total value: €431,022.57 (Operation: €312,833.57; Social Support: €118,189.00).
All ordinances came into force immediately. This action falls within the scope of support for the region's pre-school education network, ensuring the financial stability of these institutions that provide an essential public service.
