The Regional Government has approved a program contract providing a contribution of up to 50,000 euros to support the Madeira Aeroclub's ordinary operating expenses in 2026.
The Madeira Aeroclub will receive financial support of up to €50,000 to cover its operating expenses for the year 2026. The support was approved through Resolution of the Regional Government Council No. 751/2026, which authorises the signing of a program contract with the entity.
The contribution covers the Aeroclub's ordinary expenses related to its social activities, facilities, personnel, equipment, and other similar costs. The contract is retroactively effective from January 1 to December 31, 2026.
The support is justified by the Aeroclub's strategic role, as it is an EASA-certified Declared Training Organisation (DTO), enabling the official training of pilots in the Region. This capacity is considered vital for an island region, as it reduces dependence on external training, facilitates access for the Madeiran population to an aeronautical career, and contributes to preserving the region's aeronautical heritage.
