Regional Government grants support to two agricultural and rural sector entities
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved program contracts to support the Casa do Povo do Caniço and the Ponta do Pargo Livestock Breeders Cooperative.
The Regional Government Council, meeting in plenary session on June 25, 2026, authorized the granting of financial support to two distinct entities, aiming to promote culture, rurality, and livestock farming in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
Granted support:
- Casa do Povo do Caniço: Through Regional Government Council Resolution no. 636/2026, a program contract was authorized to co-finance the costs of organizing the 2026 "Onion Festival," with financial support not exceeding €10,000.00.
- Cooperativa de Criadores de Gado das Serras da Freguesia da Ponta do Pargo, C.R.Lda. (NIPC 511 029 519): Through Regional Government Council Resolution no. 637/2026, a program contract was authorized to support this entity's activities during 2026, with a financial contribution not exceeding €10,000.00.
Both processes were mandated to the Regional Secretary of Agriculture and Fisheries for their formalization and signing, with the funds duly registered in the 2026 Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
