Regional Government updates rules for agricultural and craft awards and support
The Regional Government has made regulatory adjustments to the awarding of prizes at the Porto Moniz Agricultural Fair, support for beekeeping, and the composition of the Craft Valorization Award jury.
Three ordinances have been published introducing significant changes to support and recognition schemes in the agricultural and craft sectors:
- Porto Moniz Agricultural Fair: Ordinance no. 232/2026 amends the payment regime for prizes to non-business individuals, allowing the amount to be paid directly to the winner or to an agricultural association representing them. This measure has retroactive effects to the entry into force of Ordinance no. 359/2025.
- Beekeeping Support: Ordinance no. 233/2026, which regulates Intervention F.8.11 of PEPAC Portugal, introduces a transitional rule for 2025 payment applications, aiming to mitigate operational constraints. IFAP, I.P. is now authorized to set and publicize specific periods for the annual submission of payment applications.
- Craft Valorization Award: Ordinance no. 234/2026 amends the award regulations, defining that the jury will be composed of between three and five members, appointed by the board of directors of IVBAM, IP-RAM. The change aims to provide greater flexibility and ensure a diversity of technical and artistic profiles in the evaluation of applications.
