Government awards support to three cultural entities in Madeira
The Government Council approved financial support for a philharmonic band, a film production company, and a theater group, with a total investment exceeding 30,000 euros.
The Regional Government approved, in the same session on August 3, three resolutions granting financial support to different cultural entities in the Region, through the signing of program-contracts.
The approved supports are as follows:
- Banda Municipal da Ribeira Brava (association) via Regional Government Council Resolution No. 793/2026: Support of 508.53 € under the program to support philharmonic bands, tunas, folk and traditional music groups. The amount corresponds to the VAT paid and borne by the association in 2025 on goods and services essential to its activity.
- O Som e a Fúria - Produção Audiovisual, Lda. via Regional Government Council Resolution No. 794/2026: Support of up to 10,000.00 € to share the expenses associated with the production of the feature film "Invejosos Homens Brancos", directed by Ivan Granovsky in 2026. The project involves filming in Madeira and Porto Santo.
- Grupo de Teatro de Machico (association) via Regional Government Council Resolution No. 795/2026: Support of up to 20,000.00 € for the realization, in 2026, of a set of projects that include "Luar da Poesia", Machicurtas, CineMachico, the Machico Theater Festival, Theater School, and participation in festivals in Arco de Valdevez (Mainland Portugal) and in Kekava (Latvia).
The program-contracts are effective until December 31, 2026 and are granted by the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment and Culture.
