Government allocates over 110,000 euros in support to cultural and sports associations

Three Madeiran associations will receive financial contributions for projects in agroforestry culture, artistic residencies, and international sports tourism events.

The Government Council has approved the allocation of financial support to three civil society entities, with a total amount exceeding 110,000 euros. The support aims to promote cultural, agroforestry, and sports activities in the Region.

The beneficiaries and their respective amounts are as follows:

  • Centre for Sociocultural and Agroforestry Development and Innovation (CDISA) - Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 879/2026, the association sees the approval of a programme-contract and the granting of a financial contribution not exceeding 8,000.00 €. The support is intended to ensure its activities of preserving regional agricultural varieties and promoting community events.
  • WAMÃE ASSOCIATION - Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 880/2026, the signing of a cultural cooperation protocol is authorised and a contribution not exceeding 3,000.00 € is granted. The funds are for the "Wamãe Artistic Residencies" project, which foresees the awarding of two grants to artists in 2026.
  • Madeira Regional Triathlon Association - Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 881/2026, the signing of a tourism animation programme-contract is authorised and support not exceeding 100,000.00 € is granted. The amount will be applied to the organisation of three world championships (Biathle, Triathle and Laser Run) in Funchal, between October and November 2026, with the aim of promoting sports tourism.
