The Government has approved a supplementary financial aid of up to 400 euros per embroiderer, with a total maximum amount of 240,000 euros, to cover the purchase of work materials and equipment.
The Regional Government Council authorised, through Resolution No. 1005/2026, the granting of supplementary financial aid to the Home Embroiderers of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, and approved the corresponding Regulation.
The aid is intended to cover the purchase of means of production and goods that allow the activity to be carried out under suitable hygiene and safety conditions. Eligible items include, among others, needles, threads, thimbles, scissors, fabrics, smocks, chairs, cushions, glasses, cleaning products and other utensils directly linked to the activity.
The aid is allocated without the need for an application, paid in a single instalment, and the costs are borne by the budget of IVBAM, IP-RAM. The beneficiaries must keep proof of expenses for five years. The right to payment lapses if the required acts are not carried out within 180 days after the resolution setting the amount enters into force.
The measure aims to support the sustainability of Madeira Embroidery, an activity certified since 1938 and internationally recognised, and to mitigate the loss of income of the embroiderers.
The Regional Government has approved two cultural funding agreements: a commemorative exhibition marking 350 years of the Camacha parish and the NOMADIS Dance project, each with a maximum contribution of 5,000 euros.
The Regional Government Council approved five public commendations for Madeiran athletes and the sports organisations they represent, following outstanding results in badminton, canoeing and figure skating competitions.
The Regional Government will sign a programme contract with the National Society of Fine Arts, providing funding of up to €21,000. The grant will support the production and staging of an exhibition dedicated to Lourdes de Castro, presented from 28 March to 16 May 2026.
