The Regional Government Council authorized new financial support for the Madeira Jazz Association and the Banda Recreio Camponês, revoking a previous decision.
The Regional Government Council, meeting on June 18, 2026, approved support measures for the regional cultural sector, aiming to boost musical activities and the sustainability of local associations.
Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 622/2026, a cultural development and cooperation protocol was authorized with the Madeira Jazz Association - Melro Preto. The support, amounting to a maximum of 3,000.00 €, is intended for the production and realization of five sessions of the 'Itinerant Jazz Club' during 2026.
Regarding the Banda Recreio Camponês, the Government made two distinct decisions:
A rectification statement has been published to correct the economic classification of the 508.53 euro support granted to the Ribeira Brava Municipal Band.
The Government Council authorized the signing of program-contracts with three Madeira Houses, allocating a total of 24,500 euros to support their operating expenses in 2026.
Three Madeiran associations will receive financial contributions for projects in agroforestry culture, artistic residencies, and international sports tourism events.
