Regional Government supports culture with new protocols and program contracts
The Regional Government Council authorized new financial support for the Madeira Jazz Association and the Banda Recreio Camponês, revoking a previous decision.
The Regional Government Council, meeting on June 18, 2026, approved support measures for the regional cultural sector, aiming to boost musical activities and the sustainability of local associations.
Madeira Jazz Association - Melro Preto
Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 622/2026, a cultural development and cooperation protocol was authorized with the Madeira Jazz Association - Melro Preto. The support, amounting to a maximum of 3,000.00 €, is intended for the production and realization of five sessions of the 'Itinerant Jazz Club' during 2026.
Banda Recreio Camponês
Regarding the Banda Recreio Camponês, the Government made two distinct decisions:
- Regional Government Council Resolution No. 626/2026: Authorizes the signing of a program contract to enable the association's operation in 2026, with a financial contribution of up to 5,000.00 €. This support covers ordinary expenses, facilities, personnel, and equipment.
- Regional Government Council Resolution No. 630/2026: Revokes Resolution No. 588/2026, which provided for a previous 4,000.00 € protocol for concerts in Câmara de Lobos, replacing it with the broader program contract mentioned above.
