Regional Government awards support to ten sports clubs in Madeira
The Regional Directorate of Sport has signed development programme contracts with ten associations and clubs, a public investment covering sports from karting to football.
The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology, through the Regional Directorate of Sport (DRD), has approved a set of ten sports development programme contracts (CPDD) for the 2025/2026 season. These agreements, published in a supplement to the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, aim to financially support the activities of regional clubs, promoting competition, event organisation, and training.
The contracts are valid until 31 December 2026 and fall under the Regional Plan for Sports Support for the 2025/2026 sports season. The financial support is conditional on the submission of expense receipts and the fulfilment of specific objectives by each club.
The beneficiary clubs and associations, with their respective support amounts, are as follows:
- Madeira Karting Association via Contract no. 164/2026 (Programme contract no. 21/2026) – €26,651.96
- Madeira Muay Thai Sports Association via Contract no. 165/2026 (Programme contract no. 22/2026) – €7,883.77
- Porto da Cruz Sports Association via Contract no. 166/2026 (Programme contract no. 23/2026) – €16,143.76
- Galomar Sports Association via Contract no. 167/2026 (Programme contract no. 24/2026) – €41,944.28
- Pontassolense Sports Association via Contract no. 168/2026 (Programme contract no. 25/2026) – €25,567.34
- Sports, Recreational and Cultural Association "Os Xavelhas" via Contract no. 169/2026 (Programme contract no. 26/2026) – €25,094.73
- João Inácio Football School Association via Contract no. 170/2026 (Programme contract no. 27/2026) – €8,113.37
- Câmara de Lobos Nautical Association via Contract no. 171/2026 (Programme contract no. 28/2026) – €23,709.36
- Clube Judo Brava via Contract no. 172/2026 (Programme contract no. 29/2026) – €2,509.42
- Clube Karaté Caniço via Contract no. 173/2026 (Programme contract no. 30/2026) – €15,113.13
The support is intended to cover costs related to regional competition, organisation of sporting events, support for general club activities, support for high-potential athletes, and human resources training, according to each entity's plan.
