Regional Government supports ten sports clubs in Madeira

The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology, through the Regional Directorate of Sport (DRD), has formalised support for ten clubs and sports associations in Madeira for the 2025/2026 sports season. The Sports Development Programme-Contracts (CPDD) were published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (JORAM) and represent a public investment in regional sports associations and practice.

This financial support is intended to co-fund the clubs' participation in regional and, in some cases, national competitions, as well as to support promotional activities and the development of high-potential athletes. The contracts are valid until 31 December 2026 and are framed within the Regional Sports Support Plan (PRAD) for the season in question.

The beneficiary clubs and their respective amounts are as follows:

• A.D.N. - Ponta do Sol, Sports and Nature Association via Contract no. 154/2026 (CPDD no. 11/2026) - €4,916.02 for regional competition in athletics, canoeing and kickboxing.
• Sports Association "Os Profetas" via Contract no. 155/2026 (CPDD no. 12/2026) - €7,348.46 for regional competition in football, gymnastics for all, motocross, padel, tennis and table tennis.
• Sports and Recreational Association Água de Pena via Contract no. 156/2026 (CPDD no. 13/2026) - €41,530.37 for regional competition in athletics, basketball and triathlon.
• Sports Association of Serra de Água via Contract no. 157/2026 (CPDD no. 14/2026) - €1,372.36 for regional competition in speed skating.
• APCTT - Porto da Cruz Trail Team Association via Contract no. 158/2026 (CPDD no. 15/2026) - €6,263.47 for regional competition in athletics and archery, and support for archery activity.
• Arca d' Ajuda - Recreational and Cultural Association of Ajuda via Contract no. 159/2026 (CPDD no. 16/2026) - €12,382.83 for regional competition in athletics, fencing, judo, karate, motocross, orienteering, skyrunning and volleyball, support for motocross activity, and participation in the National Volleyball Championship (includes duodecimal regime for 2026/2027).
• Shotokan Kokusai Karate Santo António Association via Contract no. 160/2026 (CPDD no. 17/2026) - €2,721.81 for regional competition in karate.
• Christian Association of Youth of Madeira via Contract no. 161/2026 (CPDD no. 18/2026) - €11,008.59 for regional competition in athletics, motorsport, orienteering and table tennis, and participation in the National Table Tennis Championship (includes duodecimal regime for 2026/2027).
• Associação Alegria da Madeira AAM - CARD - Culture, Art, Recreation and Sport via Contract no. 162/2026 (CPDD no. 19/2026) - €11,623.38 for regional competition in athletics, modern pentathlon and skyrunning, and support for a high-potential athlete in skyrunning.
• Cultural and Sports Association of Jardim da Serra via Contract no. 163/2026 (CPDD no. 20/2026) - €58,032.00 for regional competition in athletics, football, futsal, orienteering and skyrunning, support for skyrunning activity, and support for a high-potential athlete in the same discipline.

This support aims not only to foster sports competition but also to occupy the population's free time, promote healthy lifestyles, and serve as a vehicle for promoting the Autonomous Region of Madeira at a national level.
