Agriculture appoints three division heads to the Regional Directorate

The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries has appointed three managers to organisational units of the Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Rural Development (DRA). Orders No. 385/2026, No. 386/2026 and No. 390/2026 provide for one-year appointments on a commission-of-service basis, effective from 1 October 2026.

• Planning Division: António Eusébio Andrade de Freitas, who holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering and is a senior officer at the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries, was appointed division head by Order No. 385/2026. Among other duties, the unit is responsible for implementing, coordinating and monitoring the DRA’s planning and management instruments and indicators.
• Financial Support Division: Álvaro Eugénio Chaves da Silva, who holds a degree in Economics and is a senior officer at the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries, was appointed division head by Order No. 386/2026. The division supports budget management and execution, takes part in public procurement procedures, and maintains the DRA’s inventory and general archive.
• Legal Support Division: Élvio Fernando Teixeira Pereira, who holds a degree and a master’s degree in Law and is a senior officer at the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries, was appointed division head by Order No. 390/2026. The unit provides legal support to the DRA’s bodies and services.

All three positions were vacant and had never been filled. The orders state that the appointees meet the legal requirements for the roles. The corresponding expenses are covered by the budget allocations identified in each order.
