Government authorizes 4.3 million for electronic payment system on Simplifica portal
The Regional Government Presidency has authorized an expenditure of 4.32 million euros for the acquisition of electronic payment management services on the public services portal.
The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, has authorized an expenditure of 4,320,000.00 euros (plus VAT at the rate of 22%) for a public tender aimed at modernizing the payment systems for Madeira's public services. The amount is allocated in Order No. 301/2026.
The objective of the procedure is the "Acquisition of electronic payment management services for the Regional Government's services portal - Simplifica and other GRM systems." This will include the integration of multiple payment methods, such as Multibanco, debit/credit card, MB Way, TPA in use, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.
To streamline the process, the order delegates to the Board of Directors of the Madeira Agency for Innovation and Modernization (IP-RAM) the powers to carry out all acts of the public tender, including the award decision and the granting of the contract. This delegation may also be sub-delegated to the President of the Board of Directors or the tender jury.
The measure aims to make payments to regional services faster, more secure, and more convenient for citizens and businesses, aligning with the strategy for modernizing the regional public administration.
