Government Authorizes Nine Staff Members to Drive Official Agriculture Vehicles
A joint order from the regional secretariats of Finance and Agriculture and Fisheries grants generic permission to nine workers to drive service cars for professional travel.
The Regional Government of Madeira has authorized nine staff members from the Office of the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries to drive official vehicles on duty. The measure, published through Joint Order No. 61/2026, aims to ensure a faster and more effective operational response, given the need for frequent travel across the entire region.
The order justifies the decision based on the need to rationalize resources and reduce burdens on the public treasury. The Training and Research Division, as well as the Specialist Technician in media communication, frequently need to travel to organize training sessions, monitor projects, manage the Madeira Agricultural School in São Vicente, and ensure the dissemination of the regional secretariat's activities.
As the office does not have enough drivers for all these trips, authorization was granted to the following workers, holders of a category B driving license:
- José Bernardino de Barros Pinto - Senior Technician
- Juan Eduardo Andrade Andrade - Senior Technician performing duties as a Specialist Technician
- Laura Patrícia Gonçalves Ornelas - Senior Technician
- Maria do Carmo Freitas de Gouveia - Senior Technician
- Marlene Castro Cafofo - Senior Technician
- Natércia Cecília Lira Baptista - Senior Technician
- Nélio João Nunes de Olim - Technical Assistant
- Otília da Silva Azevedo Gouveia - Senior Technician performing managerial duties
- Tânia Paula Sousa Araújo - Technical Assistant
The authorization applies exclusively to travel on public service and expires when the workers cease their current duties. The order came into effect on July 18, 2026.
