The Regional Directorate of Fisheries now has a new organization, divided into four specialized service directorates to strengthen sector management and sustainability.
The Regional Government of Madeira has published Ordinance no. 287/2026, which defines the new core structure of the Regional Directorate of Fisheries (DRP). This reorganization, following Regional Regulatory Decree no. 2/2026/M, aims to equip the service with more effective means for implementing regional policy in the fields of fishing, aquaculture, and marine resource monitoring.

The ordinance also establishes that the flexible structure of the DRP will include three 2nd-degree intermediate management positions. The diploma ensures the continuity of existing service commissions and the validity of ongoing tenders, ensuring an administrative transition without interruptions for the affected services.
