Regional Government approves new core structure for the Regional Directorate of Archives, Libraries and Books
The Regional Government of Madeira has defined the new internal organization of the DRABL, establishing six core organic units for the management of documentary and bibliographic heritage.
Through Ordinance no. 263/2026, the Regional Government of Madeira has approved the new core structure of the Regional Directorate of Archives, Libraries and Books (DRABL). This reorganization aims to optimize the safeguarding and dissemination of the Region's cultural heritage.
The internal structure now consists of the following core organic units:
- Directorate of Acquisition and Repository Management Services (DSAGD)
- Directorate of Preservation, Conservation and Restoration Services (DSPCR)
- Directorate of Archive Management and Processing Services (DSGTA)
- Directorate of Library Management and Processing Services (DSGTB)
- Directorate of Book, Cultural Extension and Communication Services (DSLC)
- Atlantic History Study Center - Alberto Vieira (CEHA-AV)
The ordinance also establishes the possibility of creating two flexible organic units and ensures the continuity of the service commissions of the holders of management positions affected by the transition. This diploma revokes the previous Ordinance no. 369/2020.
