Software Engineering Master Duarte Nuno Fernandes Homem da Costa assumes the 1st-degree intermediate management position at the Regional Secretariat of Finance.
Through Dispatch no. 249/2026, the Regional Secretariat of Finance appointed Duarte Nuno Fernandes Homem da Costa to the 1st-degree intermediate management position of the Directorate of Innovation and Information Systems, integrated into the Regional Directorate of Informatics.
The appointment, in a service commission regime for a period of three years, follows a competitive selection process where the jury highlighted the appointee's technical profile and professional experience. Duarte Nuno Fernandes Homem da Costa, who holds a Master's degree in Software Engineering from the University of Madeira, had already been performing these duties in an acting capacity since May 2025.
The new director has an extensive curriculum in the field of information technology, having worked at the Madeira Employment Institute (IEM, IP-RAM) and the University of Madeira, where he led various administrative modernization and information systems projects.
