The company TEMPI has been authorized to carry out night work on the ventilation system maintenance for the regional road network tunnels, between March and December 2026.
The Regional Directorate of Labor has authorized the company TEMPI - Termo Eletromecânica, Projetos e Instalações, S.A. to adopt a working period exceeding the normal limits. The authorization, granted by a dispatch, allows the company to carry out shift work between 8:00 PM and 3:00 AM, from Monday to Friday.
This measure applies specifically to the project of "Provision of Maintenance Services for the Ventilation and Smoke Extraction System - 2026, in the tunnels of the Regional Road Network of the Autonomous Region of Madeira". The work will take place between the months of March and December 2026.
The justification for the request was based on the specificity of the activity, the nature of the work, the tunnel location, and the high volume of traffic. The concessionaire Viaexpresso issued a favorable opinion, confirming the need to carry out the work mostly at night to minimize traffic disruptions.
The authorization was granted under the Labor Code and applicable regional legislation.
