Government allocates up to €2.016 million to 17 social support organisations
Seventeen social economy organisations will sign programme contracts under PROAGES II, with total funding of up to €2,016,000. The contracts run until 31 December 2026 and may cover expenses incurred throughout the year.
The Regional Government has authorised the signing of 17 programme contracts with organisations promoting social support initiatives under the Social Stability Guarantee Support Programme II (PROAGES II). The total amount of funding may not exceed €2,016,000, according to Regional Government Council Resolution No. 933/2026.
Established by Regional Government Council Resolution No. 707/2026 of 20 July and regulated by Ordinance No. 424/2026 of 31 August, PROAGES II aims to strengthen income support for households in an intermediate socio-economic situation. The Regional Directorate for Citizenship and Social Affairs manages the programme.
The maximum amounts authorised for each organisation are:
- ACAPORAMA - Association of Parish Community Centres of the Autonomous Region of Madeira - up to €92,087.39;
- ASA - Association for the Development of the Parish of Santo António - up to €410,153.06;
- Casa do Voluntário Association - up to €92,205.97;
- Santana Cidade Solidária Association - up to €69,000;
- Camacha Parish Community Centre - up to €407,000;
- Ponta do Sol Parish Community Centre - up to €69,000;
- Água de Pena Parish Community Centre - up to €40,000;
- Câmara de Lobos Parish Community Centre - up to €161,435.09;
- Machico Parish Community Centre - up to €72,886.47;
- São Gonçalo Parish Community Centre - up to €102,640.95;
- Caniçal Parish Community Centre - up to €20,961.78;
- Curral das Freiras Parish Community Centre - up to €17,194.20;
- Estreito de Câmara de Lobos Parish Community Centre - up to €161,435.09;
- Porto Moniz Parish Community Centre - up to €8,000;
- São Bento Social and Parish Centre - up to €191,000;
- Our Lady of Piedade Foundation - up to €32,000;
- Calheta Holy House of Mercy - up to €69,000.
The funding will be paid after the programme contracts are signed and by 31 December 2026. Although the contracts take effect from the date of signature until the end of the year, expenses incurred between 1 January and 31 December 2026 are eligible for funding.
The resolution also stipulates that the Regional Director for Citizenship and Social Affairs will oversee the procedures and sign the contracts on behalf of the Region, while the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth will approve them.

Funding for the PRR-backed Casa Lar dos Afetos project has risen to €2,535,520.19. The initiative will provide 25 places in a residential care home for older people and 3 places in a day centre.
