The Regional Plan for Active and Healthy Ageing 2027-2031 is based on five pillars, from supporting caregivers to financial sustainability. The Regional Government Council is expected to approve the plan within 30 days.
The Regional Government has approved the five strategic pillars of the Regional Plan for Active and Healthy Ageing 2027-2031 (PREAS). The resolution also requires the Regional Government Council to approve the plan within 30 days, under Article 24 of Regional Legislative Decree No. 14/2026/M of 5 August.
The PREAS is presented as a regional instrument for planning, coordinating and implementing public policies aimed at older people. The strategy covers the five-year period from 2027 to 2031 and, according to the resolution, is aligned with the World Health Organization's Decade of Healthy Ageing and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
The decision is set out in Regional Government Council Resolution No. 948/2026, which enters into force on the day following its publication.
Danilo José Moniz Ferreira received a public commendation for winning the bronze medal with the national team at the 2026 Wheelchair Handball World Championship. The coach represents Clube Naval Setubalense.
Ivone de Fátima Silva has been honoured by the Regional Government after winning two bronze medals at international paragliding competitions. The commendation also recognises her club, the Jardim da Serra Cultural and Sports Association.
Fourteen associations and informal youth groups will receive funding through the Social Innovation and Transformation Programme. The total maximum grant is €35,673.65, allocated across 2026 and 2027.
