The Madeira Social Security Institute may incur costs of €1,344,686.40 between 2026 and 2029 to fund the specialist day centres in Várzea and Romeiras. The monthly contribution will rise from €36,517.61 to €37,352.40 from 1 October 2026.
The Regional Government has authorised the Madeira Social Security Institute, IP-RAM (ISSM), to incur budgetary costs totalling €1,344,686.40 between 2026 and 2029 to fund a specialist day centre service for older people with conditions associated with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.
The funding stems from an addendum to Atypical Agreement No. 2/2020, signed by the ISSM and the Funchal Community Development Association. The service operates at two facilities: the Várzea Specialist Day Centre - Lugar de Memórias I and the Romeiras Specialist Day Centre - Lugar de Memórias II. The addendum provides for the standard funding model to apply from 1 October 2026, under a Typical Agreement.
The monthly contribution, currently set at €36,517.61, will rise to €37,352.40 from 1 October 2026. The order also allows the annual amounts to be increased, provided budgetary appropriations are available and the applicable legal requirements are met.
The annual amounts may be increased by any balance carried over from the previous year. The authorisation is set out in Order No. 570/2026 of 1 October, signed by the Regional Secretaries for Finance and for Inclusion, Labour and Youth. The order takes immediate effect, while the addendum takes effect from 1 October 2026.
In 2026, the Regional Government will honour distinguished figures with the Honorary Insignia of Prestige - “50 Years of Autonomy”. The award ceremony is scheduled for 1 October in Funchal; the resolution refers to an attached list for the names of the recipients.
Seven youth social entrepreneurship projects will receive €2,550 each, for a total of €7,850, under the Social Innovation and Transformation Programme. The costs will be spread across 2026 and 2027.
Seven programme agreements from the Regional Directorate for Youth will support initiatives in health, cinema, the arts, music and education. The orders approve expenditure of €7,773.65, spread across 2026 and 2027.
