Specialized Day Centre Receives Monthly Funding of €37,352
The Funchal Community Development Association will receive a monthly contribution of €37,352.40 for its centres in Várzea and Romeiras. The renewed agreement covers 30 service users and runs from October 2026 to September 2029.
The Regional Government has authorized a change to the funding model for the Specialized Day Centre run by the Funchal Community Development Association. The service, aimed at older people with conditions related to dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, will now receive funding under the standard model, through a Standard Agreement.
The total monthly contribution will be €37,352.40, calculated at €1,245.08 per service user for 30 people. The amount will be divided equally between the two centres covered: €18,676.20 per month for the Várzea Specialized Day Centre - Lugar de Memórias I, and the same amount for the Romeiras Specialized Day Centre - Lugar de Memórias II.
The addendum to Non-Standard Agreement No. 2/2020 takes effect on 1 October 2026, as part of the renewed cooperation agreement running until 30 September 2029. The resolution provides for expenditure of €112,057.20 in 2026, €448,228.80 in 2027, €448,228.80 in 2028 and €336,171.60 in 2029.
The change forms part of the gradual application of standard funding to social services for which a reference amount has already been approved. The decision was adopted by Regional Government Council Resolution No. 945/2026.
