Madeira grants €367,438.76 to ten sports associations for travel
The Regional Directorate for Sport has signed ten programme contracts to support travel and daily allowances for athletes and other sports personnel during the 2025/2026 season. The funding, intended for participation in regional and national competitions, can total up to €367,438.76.
The Regional Directorate for Sport (DRD) will contribute towards travel costs for sports personnel from ten associations in Madeira under programme contracts for the 2025/2026 sports season. The funding is intended to cover travel and daily allowance expenses for participation in regional and national competitions, including journeys between Madeira and Porto Santo and travel to events outside the Region where applicable.
The maximum total value of the ten contracts is €367,438.76. The actual contribution to each organisation will be adjusted if its eligible expenses are lower than the approved limit. The contracts take effect from the date of signature and remain in force until 31 December 2026.

The contracts set out requirements for reporting and submitting proof of expenditure, sports performance indicators, and financial and institutional documentation. The DRD is responsible for monitoring and auditing the use of the funding. Contracts that include regional teams also require the use of equipment in the Region's colours and the promotional wording specified in the relevant document.
