In 2026, the Regional Government will honour distinguished figures with the Honorary Insignia of Prestige - “50 Years of Autonomy”. The award ceremony is scheduled for 1 October in Funchal; the resolution refers to an attached list for the names of the recipients.
The Regional Government Council approved the award, in 2026, of the Honorary Insignia of Prestige - “50 Years of Autonomy” to the distinguished figures identified in a list attached to the resolution. The official insignia ceremony will take place in Funchal on 1 October.
The distinction was established by Regional Legislative Decree No. 3/2026/M of 2 April to recognise Portuguese or foreign citizens, associations or institutions that have made a notable contribution to the establishment, preservation, development and enhancement of the Autonomy of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. It may be awarded during a recipient’s lifetime or posthumously.
Regional Government Council Resolution No. 920/2026 was approved at a plenary meeting on 24 September. The text published in JORAM does not list the recipients’ names, stating that the attached list forms an integral part of the resolution and is held on file at the General Secretariat of the Presidency.
Seven youth social entrepreneurship projects will receive €2,550 each, for a total of €7,850, under the Social Innovation and Transformation Programme. The costs will be spread across 2026 and 2027.
Seven programme agreements from the Regional Directorate for Youth will support initiatives in health, cinema, the arts, music and education. The orders approve expenditure of €7,773.65, spread across 2026 and 2027.
The Madeira Institute of Social Security has been authorised to commit €650,530.03, plus VAT, to procure cleaning services in 2027 and 2028. The expenditure covers central and local offices, activity and inclusion training centres, and the Madeira Social Inclusion Centre.
