The Regional Government of Madeira has approved sports development program contracts to support travel costs for sports agents across five disciplines for the 2025/2026 season.
The Regional Government Council approved, in a plenary session held on April 30, 2026, the signing of five sports development program contracts (CPDD) aimed at co-financing travel and daily allowance expenses for sports agents. These grants are intended to mitigate costs increased by insularity and ensure the participation of athletes, coaches, and officials in regional and national competitions during the 2025/2026 sports season.

The contracts, approved by the Regional Secretary of Education, Science and Technology, are effective until December 31, 2026, and are financed through the budget of the Regional Directorate of Sports, within the scope of the air and sea travel support project.
The municipality signed a program contract to financially support the 15th Madalena do Mar Canoe Regatta, organized by the Madeira Regional Canoeing Association.
The Government Council authorized a program-contract to financially support the 2026 activity plan of the Social Solidarity Association Crescer Sem Risco.
The Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection approved the internal redistribution of 420,000 euros in financial support to the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters Humanitarian Association across three support programmes.
