Continuing Care Network reinforced with 17 new beds at Lar d'Ajuda

The Regional Government signed a program contract for the creation of the Lar D'Ajuda V Unit, with an investment exceeding 1.6 million euros.

A new program contract has been formalized within the scope of the Madeira Integrated Continuing Care Network (REDE), involving the Institute of Health Administration, IP-RAM, the Madeira Social Security Institute, IP-RAM, the Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labor and Youth, and the entity Lar d'Ajuda - Lar e Centro de Dia, Sociedade Unipessoal, LDA.

The agreement, established on June 2, 2026, and approved by the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection, aims at the operationalization of the Long-Term Care and Maintenance Unit named Unidade Lar D'Ajuda V, with the contracting of 17 beds. The total public investment amounts to €1,641,479.20, distributed as follows:

  • Health care: €769,874.24
  • Social support care: €835,458.88
  • Diaper usage: €36,146.08
