The Regional Government has authorized the distribution of budgetary charges for the acquisition of volume expanders for SESARAM, in a four-year contract.
The Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM, EPERAM) will reinforce its stock of large-volume expanders, in a total investment of €3,833,627.29, plus VAT at a rate of 4%. The authorization was formalized through Ordinance no. 172/2026, published jointly by the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection and the Regional Secretariat for Finance.
The contract, which will have a duration of four years, presents the following breakdown of budgetary charges:
The expenditure is registered under funding source 319, economic classification D.02.01.11, of the SESARAM budget for 2026, with the charges for subsequent years being integrated into the respective annual budgets.
The capacity of the elderly support establishment was formally increased after modernization works financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The Regional Health Secretariat authorized an increase of nearly 93,000 euros in the budget for the requalification of integrated long-term care units, raising the total amount to over 4.4 million euros.
The Council of the Government approved the 2026 action plan for the Integrated Continuing Care Network (REDE), establishing coverage targets and the renewal and creation of 526 new inpatient and home support places.
