Ordinance No. 426/2026 authorizes the allocation of 6.72 million euros for slope stabilization and protection works on a section of Expressway 2 between the Ladeira da Vinha and João Delgado tunnels.
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved the budgetary allocation for a slope stabilization project on Expressway 2 (VE2). The procedure, published in an Ordinance, aims to guarantee the safety of a critical section of that roadway.
The intervention, named "Slope Stabilization and Protection of VE2 between the Ladeira da Vinha and João Delgado Tunnels - Section between KM 3+600 and 3+800. Construction Contract," has a total value of 6,720,000.00 € (six million, seven hundred and twenty thousand euros).

The ordinance also establishes that the amount fixed for each year may be increased by the balance ascertained in the previous year. The expenditure for 2026 has budgetary coverage under the heading of the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure. The final cost of the work will be increased by VAT at the applicable legal rate.
The measure was published through Ordinance No. 426/2026, of September 2, signed by the Regional Secretary for Finance, Duarte Nuno Nunes de Freitas, and the Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, Pedro Alexandre Fagundes de Freitas Rodrigues.
The Government Council approved the signing and amendment of three program-contracts for the rehabilitation of the Civic Center in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, the Ribeira da Boaventura development, and the Porto Santo Cultural Center.
The Council of Government has authorized the friendly expropriation of a plot of land valued at 32,616.55 euros, necessary for the construction of the Boaventura-São Vicente Expressway.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira and Calheta Municipal Council have amended the programme contract to fund the landscape rehabilitation of houses in Paúl do Mar, with a regional investment of 854,959.62 euros.
