Machico maintains €4.14 million in funding to rebuild Porto da Cruz cemetery
The Regional Government approved the fourth amendment to its programme contract with Machico Municipality to adjust the project’s payment schedule. The maximum funding remains €4,141,706.98, with the outstanding amount scheduled for 2026.
Regional funding for the renovation and reconstruction of Porto da Cruz Cemetery remains capped at €3,141,706.98. The Government Council approved the fourth amendment to the programme contract with Machico Municipality to align the financial schedule with the progress of the works and the expenses still awaiting funding.
According to the resolution, the physical works have been completed, but some expenses remain to be funded. The amendment reallocates annual budget commitments and provides for the outstanding amount of the approved funding to be entered in the budget and paid during the 2026 financial year, without increasing the maximum contribution.
