Ordinance No. 553/2026 of 30 September amends and reallocates the budget costs of the service procurement procedure for cleaning roads, verges, ditches and slopes along various sections of the Regional Road Network for the 2025/2028 period. The expenditure is divided into four lots and totals €2,052,843.42, before VAT.
The amounts allocated for each year may be increased by any balance carried forward from the previous year. The 2026 expenditure is covered by the Autonomous Region of Madeira's budget for that year; the funds for 2027, 2028 and 2029 will be included in the respective budgets. VAT at the applicable rate is added to the amounts shown.
The ordinance was signed on 28 September and enters into force on the working day following its publication.
The Government Council approved a proposal to amend the legislation establishing rules for the defence and protection of regional roads. The proposal will now be submitted to the Legislative Assembly of Madeira.
Six orders revise the annual allocation of costs for regional projects, including works at schools, Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, the Seixal wastewater treatment plant and the Regional Archive. The stated total amounts range from 11,900 euros to more than 2.5 million euros, plus VAT at the applicable rate.
Works worth €142,172.75, plus VAT, have been ordered not to proceed under the first-phase tunnel contract for the Quebradas-Amparo link. The decision aims to coordinate this phase with the future connection to a section of the VR1 Link Tunnel.
