The Regional Government of Madeira has authorized an amendment to the program contract with the Municipality of São Vicente to adjust the schedule of post-storm works.
Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 649/2026, the Madeiran executive authorized the sixth amendment to the program contract signed with the Municipality of São Vicente. This measure aims to reprogram the recovery, reconstruction, and restoration works in areas affected by the storm of December 25, 2020, which severely impacted the parishes of Ponta Delgada and Boaventura.
The decision follows delays in the physical execution of the interventions, requiring the readjustment of amounts not executed in 2025 to the year 2026. The Regional Government maintains the maximum financial contribution set at €2,299,914.30. The Regional Secretary of Finance has been mandated to formalize this amendment, with budgetary charges duly allocated under project 52661.
The Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure has modified and redistributed the budgetary charges for the completion of the first phase of the Sao Goncalo III project.
