The Autonomous Region of Madeira and the Municipality of São Vicente have amended the programme contract for the recovery of infrastructure damaged by the 2020 storm, extending its validity and adjusting the funding.
The sixth amendment to the technical and financial cooperation programme contract between the Autonomous Region of Madeira and the Municipality of São Vicente has been published. The agreement, initially signed in May 2021, aims at the recovery and reconstruction works of municipal infrastructure affected by the storm of 25 December 2020.
Contract No. 137/2026, signed by the Regional Secretary for Finance, Duarte Nuno Nunes de Freitas, and the President of the Municipality of São Vicente, José Carlos Gonçalves, introduces the following main changes:
This amendment aims to ensure the completion of the reconstruction works in the municipality of São Vicente.
The Government Council approved the tenth amendment to the concession contract with Horários do Funchal, updating the financial compensation for public service obligations.
The Regional Government Council approved a change to the public tender program for the acquisition of controlled-cost housing units in Santa Cruz and extended the deadline for submitting proposals.
The Government Council Resolution No. 661/2026 authorizes the expropriation of a land parcel valued at €16,222.10, necessary for the construction of the new road.
