The Regional Government of Madeira has approved the distribution of budgetary burdens for the requalification of Largo da Republica, in a project to be executed by SMD - Sociedade Metropolitana de Desenvolvimento, S. A.
Ordinance no. 171/2026 has been published, formalizing the distribution of budgetary burdens necessary for the conclusion of a program contract between the Autonomous Region of Madeira, through the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure, and SMD - Sociedade Metropolitana de Desenvolvimento, S. A.
The investment, which aims to execute the PIDDAR project no. 53056 - Rehabilitation of Largo da Republica, amounts to a maximum global total of 400,000.00 euros. The multi-annual financing plan is structured as follows:
The ordinance also establishes that the amount set for each financial year may be increased by the balance determined in the previous year. The project has budgetary coverage in the budget of the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure, with funds for 2027 and 2028 being registered in the respective future budgets. The mentioned values do not include VAT at the legal rate in force.
Ordinance No. 413/2026 redistributes budget funds for co-financing investment expenses in the rehabilitation of the Estreito de Câmara de Lobos Civic Center, for a maximum total amount of 966,414.90 euros.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira and Calheta Municipal Council have amended the programme contract to fund the landscape rehabilitation of houses in Paúl do Mar, with a regional investment of 854,959.62 euros.
