Ordinance No. 580/2026 changes the unit rates of the tax on petroleum and energy products applicable in the Region. The new rates for petrol, road diesel and marked coloured diesel take effect on 3 October.
The Regional Government has updated the unit rates of the tax on petroleum and energy products (ISP) applicable in Madeira. The change is set out in Ordinance No. 580/2026 of 8 October, which amends points 1, 3 and 3 of Ordinance No. 10/2015, as currently in force.

The ordinance frames the update as part of the gradual unwinding of measures to mitigate fuel prices. The Regional Government says it aims to balance the protection of households and businesses with the promotion of more sustainable fuel consumption patterns.
The legislation enters into force on the day after its publication, but the new rates take effect from 12 October 2026.
