Ordinance No. 611/2026 amends the unit rates of the tax on petroleum and energy products applicable in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, effective 2 November 2026.
The Madeira Regional Government published in the Official Journal, on Thursday, 29 October 2026, Ordinance No. 611/2026, which updates the unit rates of the Tax on Petroleum and Energy Products (ISP) applied in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The ordinance is jointly signed by the Regional Secretary for the Economy, José Manuel de Sousa Rodrigues, and the Regional Secretary for Finance, Duarte Nuno Nunes de Freitas.
The measure amends Ordinance No. 10/2015, of 12 January, and affects the rates set by Ordinance No. 600/2026, of 22 October, namely for unleaded petrol IO95, road diesel and coloured and marked diesel.
The decree states that the price of raw materials has risen significantly. According to the Executive, the change aims to partially absorb this increase in order to mitigate its effects on households and the economy. The Government acknowledges that this option represents an additional effort for regional public finances. The text also indicates that the measure seeks to reconcile environmental protection with support for households and businesses in the energy sector, within a framework of budgetary stability.
The ordinance enters into force on the day after its publication but takes effect from 2 November 2026.
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved, through Dispatch No. 434/2026, a 50% reduction in IRS withholding tax on salaries and pensions paid during November 2026.
Provisional Account No. 6/2026 of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, covering the period from 1 January to 30 September 2026, shows budget revenue of about €1,499 million and public budget expenditure of about €1,427 million.
A correction notice amends the amount stated in the summary of an amendment to the Madeira Legislative Assembly's private budget. The correct figure is 52,000 euros, not 512,000 euros.
