Regional Government updates ISP fuel tax rates in Madeira
The Regional Government of Madeira has updated the unit tax rates for the Tax on Petroleum and Energy Products, effective from June 29, 2026.
Through Ordinance no. 279/2026, published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (JORAM), the Regional Government has established new values for the unit tax rates on Petroleum and Energy Products (ISP). This measure, which amends Ordinance no. 10/2015, comes as part of the gradual unfreezing of fuel price mitigation measures, seeking to balance the protection of families and businesses with the promotion of more sustainable consumption.
The new unit rates, which come into effect on June 29, 2026, are as follows:
- Unleaded gasoline (IO95): €467.87 per 1000 liters.
- Road diesel: €350.20 per 1000 liters.
- Colored and marked diesel: €76.41 per 1000 liters.
This update revokes the values previously set by Ordinance no. 262/2026, of June 19, and is based on the variation intervals provided for in the Excise Duty Code.
