The Regional Government of Madeira has changed the start dates for secondary school classes, aligning them with the national calendar.
The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology has published an order amending the school calendar for the 2026/2027 academic year in public educational establishments of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
Order No. 355/2026, published on September 3, 2026, makes the first amendment to Order No. 198/2026 of May 3, which had approved the initial calendar. The change follows the publication of a national order that set the start of teaching activities for Scientific-Humanistic Courses in Secondary Education for September 21, 2026.
With this change, the school calendar for the public network in Madeira is adjusted as follows:
The order came into force the day after its publication, thus ensuring the immediate application of the new dates for the upcoming academic year.
The service commissions of the director, administrative and financial director, and pedagogical director of the Madeira Hotel and Tourism School have been renewed, all for a new three-year period.
The Regulation establishing the rules for awarding Study Grants, Local Grants, Artistic Grants, and Merit Grants to higher education students has been published, applicable from the 2026/2027 academic year.
A rectification statement has been published to correct the name of a project funded under a program-contract with ARDITI, which is now correctly designated as "Atlantic Sentinel".
