Madeira Government Sets New Maximum Fuel Prices
The Regional Secretariat for Economy and Finance has approved the new maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel, effective September 21.
The Regional Government of Madeira has defined, through Joint Order No. 86/2026, the new maximum prices at which fuels can be sold to the public in the archipelago. The measure, resulting from the joint approval by the regional secretariats of Economy and Finance, comes into effect at 00:00 on September 21, 2026.
The approved maximum prices are as follows:
- Unleaded gasoline IO 95: €1.984 per litre
- Road diesel: €2.077 per litre
- Coloured and marked diesel: €1.634 per litre
This order is issued under the terms of Ordinance No. 25/2022, of January 26, which establishes the regime for setting maximum retail prices for fuels in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The regular update of these values aims to ensure market stability and consumer protection.
