Ponta do Sol Council Awards Financial Support to Table Tennis Club
The Ponta do Sol municipality has signed two program-contracts with the local Table Tennis Club, allocating 60,000 euros for national participation and 4,623.07 euros for the purchase of a vehicle.
The Ponta do Sol Municipal Council approved two distinct financial supports for the Ponta do Sol Table Tennis Club (CTMPS), aimed at the club's sporting development and its participation in national competitions.
The supports were formalized through the following legal instruments:
- Contract no. 138/2026 - First amendment to Program-Contract no. 132/2026, signed between the Ponta do Sol Municipal Council and the Ponta do Sol Table Tennis Club. This amendment grants financial support of 4,623.07 € (four thousand six hundred and twenty-three euros and seven cents) to cover the remaining amount needed to purchase an electric van. The club had already secured funding for over 90% of the investment through the Participatory Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (OPRAM).
- Contract no. 139/2026 - Program-Contract for the Granting of extraordinary financial support signed between the Ponta do Sol Municipal Council and the Ponta do Sol Table Tennis Club. This contract awards support of 60,000 € (sixty thousand euros) to assist with expenses related to the participation of the men's and women's teams in the 1st National Table Tennis Division, during the 2026/2027 sports season. The amount will be paid in two 50% installments: one after the signing of the contract and another in December 2026.
The contracts highlight the club's sporting merit, which secured the presence of both teams in the main national division, and the municipal recognition of the importance of its training project and representation of the municipality.
