Regional Government supports travel for five Madeiran sports associations
The Regional Government of Madeira has authorized program contracts to support the travel expenses of sports agents from five regional associations during the 2025/2026 season.
The Regional Government Council approved, in a plenary session on April 30, 2026, the signing of five sports development program contracts (CPDD) aimed at subsidizing travel and daily allowance costs for sports agents. These grants aim to mitigate the costs caused by insularity and ensure the participation of athletes, coaches, and officials in regional and national competitions.
The beneficiary entities and their respective support are:
- Madeira Bridge Association: Up to €8,958.00 (Resolution No. 423/2026) for national competition.
- Judo Association of the Autonomous Region of Madeira: Up to €9,313.00 (Resolution No. 424/2026) for national competition and regional teams.
- Madeira Swimming Association: Up to €55,114.00 (Resolution No. 425/2026) for national competition and regional teams.
- Madeira Skating Association: Up to €66,435.84 (Resolution No. 426/2026) for national, regional (Porto Santo), and regional team competitions.
- Sport Fishing Association of the Autonomous Region of Madeira: Up to €53,377.30 (Resolution No. 427/2026) for national and regional (Porto Santo) competition.
The contracts, which are valid until December 31, 2026, are managed by the Regional Directorate of Sports, with the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology mandated for their approval.
