Regional Government adjusts PRR housing funds and reinforces fuel subsidies

The Regional Government of Madeira has updated housing investment under the PRR and clarified extraordinary fuel support rules for public transport and taxis.

The Regional Government Council has approved two fundamental resolutions for the management of resources and sectoral support in the Autonomous Region of Madeira:

Housing Investment (PRR)

Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 468/2026, the executive amended the maximum amount allocated for investment in the acquisition and construction of housing units under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The updated global value for the acquisition of lots was set at €115,515,896.32, with the remaining €13,254,103.68 allocated to the construction of new housing.

Fuel Subsidies

Regional Government Council Resolution No. 469/2026 clarifies the exceptional support for rising fuel prices, with retroactive effect to April 6, 2026:

  • Public Transport: Beneficiaries receive support of 15 cents per liter for consumption up to 2,000 liters per vehicle/month, when the average price of road diesel records an increase of more than 10 cents compared to the week of March 9 to 13, 2026.
  • Taxis (including T license): Beneficiaries receive extraordinary support of 15 cents per liter (diesel and gasoline), considering a consumption of 300 liters per vehicle/month, resulting in a single payment of 135 euros per vehicle.
