Regional Government supports Avesso Festival and theater projects in Ponta do Sol
The Regional Government of Madeira has authorized a cultural cooperation protocol with the Avesso Cultural Association, providing 15,000 euros in funding for theatrical activities.
The Regional Government Council has approved, through Resolution no. 590/2026, the signing of a cultural development and cooperation protocol with the Avesso Cultural, Sports and Recreational Association (tax ID 513.137.149). This measure aims to support the production and realization of the Teatro do Avesso projects and the XII Edition of the Avesso Festival, which will take place during 2026.
The financial support granted by the Autonomous Region of Madeira will not exceed 15,000.00 €. The main objective of the initiative is to revitalize public spaces in the town of Ponta do Sol through street theater, promoting cultural decentralization and the appreciation of local heritage, as established in the Program of the XVI Government of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The protocol, effective from the date of its signing until December 31, 2026, will be granted by the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment and Culture and the Regional Director of Culture. The expenditure is duly budgeted in the regional budget, under the rules for supporting projects of cultural interest.
